Jeanne (Duax) Jakob, PhD

Clinical Psychology PhD Graduate
I’ve been in private practice for the past 10 years, first in Michigan, and now in Mountain View, California. My private practice (https://www.drjeannejakob.com/) specializes in providing ACT/CBT/DBT-informed services to adults and older adolescents with anxiety, mood and trauma-based challenges. My interest in the administrative, marketing and business sides of building a practice began during my time at CWRU as the Clinic Coordinator of CWRU’s psychology training clinic. My involvement in various clinical research studies in graduate school and beyond (thank you Drs. Youngstrom, Feeny & Rauch!) contributed to the high bar I’ve set to deliver effective therapy informed by scientific findings and evidence-based assessment. Additionally, my clinical attunement to the therapeutic relationship, family dynamics and the “language” of therapy was greatly influenced by the top-notch supervision I received while at CWRU (shout outs to Drs. Damour, and Overholser!). In addition to my private practice, I’ve worked in various positions over the years, including as a clinical supervisor to first-year PhD students at Palo Alto University, and as a Clinical Research psychologist on a Prolonged Exposure treatment study at the VA Ann Arbor. Most recently, I worked as a “coach” for a team of engineers at Google to support interpersonal effectiveness within the work context. I love the autonomy that having a private practice has afforded me in terms of flexibility, creativity and the ability to dial up and down my work-load based on my own personal bandwidth as a mom of two active kiddos, ages 3 and 5! I have also established a talented network of professionals with whom I regularly consult, including a group of local DBT experts and an ACT consultation group led by Dr. Robyn Walser. Most recently, I’ve converted to a 100% telehealth practice due to COVID and have been pleasantly surprised with how successful the transition has gone and the unexpected positive side effects of providing video therapy -I can now hold sessions from my adjustable standing desk! My passion for learning about psychology, the human condition and therapy has not faltered since graduating from CWRU. I am as passionate as ever about being a psychologist and am so grateful I chose this field as my career path. I have fond memories of my time at CWRU and miss all of my mentors and friends!

Steffany Homolka, PhD

Clinical Psychology PhD Graduate
I am a licensed psychologist at the Children’s Advocacy Center of Greater West Texas, where I provide outpatient therapy to children, adolescents, adults, and families, many of whom are victims of violence, neglect, and abuse. I have both generalist training to be able to see individuals of all ages, as well as specialized training in child, adolescent, and family clinical psychology. I currently focus much of my clinical efforts on the treatment of trauma-based psychopathology among children and adolescents (TF-CBT). In addition to being trained in several broad therapeutic approaches (e.g., CBT), I also have training in more specific therapy modalities, including Maudsley Family-Based Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy for adolescents, among others.
