Cleveland Clinic Children’s Hospital Center for Pediatric Behavior Health offers an array of specialized psychological services for children, adolescents, and their families. Consultation, evaluation, and treatment services are provided for individuals who are experiencing medical, developmental, behavioral, emotional, learning, and/or stress-related difficulties.
MetroHealth Center for Behavioral Health – Children and Adolescent Services is a full-service behavioral health provider, offering a complete slate of outpatient services for children and adolescents with psychiatric disorders, developmental and academic problems, as well as emotional and behavioral problems.
Baldwin Wallace College Counseling Center offers an integrated and holistic approach to meeting the mental and physical needs of the Baldwin Wallace Student body.
Case Western Reserve University Counseling Services provides students with therapy and crisis counseling. Its staff works closely with those in University Hospitals Department of Psychiatry and other appropriate community resources.
Connections is a community mental health agency that contracts with the Alcohol, Drug Addiction & Mental Health Services Board of Cuyahoga County. They serve children, adolescents, and adults of all walks of life and disabilities throughout Cuyahoga County.
Louis Stokes Cleveland Department of Veteran Affairs provides intensive, time-limited psychiatric outpatient treatment for the seriously mentally ill veteran. The population consists primarily of individuals with schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, major depression, and bipolar disorder.
Northcoast Behavioral Health Care System is a state-operated, inpatient, psychiatric facility for adults. The Cleveland campus has 40 forensic and 60 civil beds. The Northfield Campus has 50 civil and 130 forensic beds. The outpatient services (Community Support Services) are coordinated by individual counties. NBH provides psychiatric care for Northeast Ohio Counties.
Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital of University Hospitals is a 250-bed regional pediatric facility which includes a large Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit and a number of out-patient clinics. It serves children and adolescents with neurological and behavioral problems, medical-surgical patients, and those with chronic illnesses.
Applewood Centers Inc. (outpatient services)
CWRU Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology provides training and experience in providing consultation, assessment, and treatment services to children and adolescents diagnosed with cancer or a blood disorder and their families. Students have the opportunity to receive training in both inpatient and outpatient settings, as well as play a role in educational planning and communication with patients’ schools. Students may work with patients, siblings, and other family members affected by the chronic medical condition.
The Emily Program – Cleveland provides Day Treatment and Intensive Outpatient settings for adolescents and adults suffering from eating disorders. This placement may include opportunities to work with dual-diagnosis patients including individuals with mood disorders and personality disorders, as well as high-risk behaviors such as self-harm.
Cleveland Clinic Foundation provides Practicum and Internship training at the Masters and Ph.D. level, giving students a range of experience with the adult population. Contact broerk@ccf.org for information about educational training.
Cleveland Clinic Pediatric Pain Rehabilitation Program is an interdisciplinary program designed to assist children and adolescents with chronic pain that interferes with their normal activities. The primary goals of the program are to help children manage their pain effectively and to restore daily activity. The program consists of inpatient and day hospital components, and it blends pediatric subspecialty care, behavioral health, and rehabilitation therapies in an individualized but coordinated manner. Multiple disciplines are involved, including physicians (pediatricians, physiatrists, subspecialists as indicated), nurses, psychologists, nutritionist, physical and occupational therapists, recreation therapist, and a teacher.
Cleveland State University Counseling Center provides services to the campus community that includes individual, couple, and group counseling and psychotherapy; psychiatric services, outreach presentations and ongoing seminars and workshops; emergency and crisis response; consultations.
The Laurel School, founded in 1896, is a nationally recognized, college preparatory, independent day school for girls, kindergarten through grade 12, with a coeducational early childhood program.
Lawrence School Assessment Center provides comprehensive training in psychological assessment of children and adolescents, with a special emphasis on cognitive and academic evaluation. The Lawrence School is an independent, coed day school serving grade 1-12 students who have learning differences and attention deficits.
University Hospitals, Department of Behavioral Pediatrics provides evaluation and medical management of a variety of developmental-behavioral problems – developmental delay, autistic spectrum disorders, genetic disabilities, and ADHD.
