Research Areas: Communication Sciences MA

Research Interests- Neurogenic communication disorders, particularly acquired disorders affecting cognition and communication. I am especially interested in aphasia and other communication impairments resulting from stroke or TBI. Additionally, I’m interested in ALS research, specifically the development of alternative and augmentative communication strategies that support individuals as the disease progresses.

Area of Specialization- Focus on neurogenic communication disorders across the lifespan, with particular emphasis on acquired communication disorders and neurodegenerative diseases.

About Me- I am originally from Dayton, Ohio, and attended Miami University where I earned degrees in both Speech-Language Pathology and English Literature. My background in both communication sciences and literature has strengthened my appreciation for the role language plays in identity, connection, and quality of life. In my free time, I enjoy watching movies, writing, and spending time outdoors!
