Research Areas: Clinical Psychology PhD

Area of specialization: Child & Family Psychology

Research interests: My primary research interests center around improving treatment for adolescent mental health and substance use disorders. I am interested in identifying the factors that impact treatment outcomes and developing evidence-based interventions that specifically target justice-involved youth and families in community and correctional settings.

About me: I am from Baltimore, Maryland. I earned my Bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Criminology & Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland, College Park. After graduation, I moved back to Baltimore to work for the research department at Maryland Treatment Centers, a community substance use disorder treatment provider. Specifically, I worked on a project investigating a behavioral intervention that targets youth with opioid use disorder and their families. My experience with this project helped to shape my current interests, which I will continue to explore in Dr. Stacy Ryan-Pettes’s lab at CWRU.
