Area of Specialization– I’m currently interested in working with patients who are experiencing dysphagia and/or neurogenic and cognitive disorders. I enjoy the rehabilitative process of finding what works best for an individual patient and watching them begin to grow and progress towards their goals.

Advisor– Kathryn McNeal, MS CCC/SLP

Research Interests– My research interests include pediatric dysphagia and parent/caregiver education. I’m completing a thesis on the impact of dysphagia on caregiver burden of children with cerebral palsy. I’m interested to know if caregivers of children with cerebral palsy and dysphagia report experiencing more burden than those with children without dysphagia. If possible, I’d also like to investigate how the education they received on properly managing their child’s dysphagia needs has impacted their experience of burden.

About Me– I’m from Athens, Ohio and went to school at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. While I was at Miami, I worked in a pediatric dysphagia research lab focusing primarily on feeding approaches and how they affect the swallow in a developing child. In my free time, I enjoy spending time outside and away from a screen, going to Guardians games, and running! A fun fact about me is I have run two half marathons and one full marathon!
