About
Jean M. Nisenboum, received her M.S. from Miami University Oxford, Ohio, and is a licensed speech-language pathologist with over 20 years of experience. Her clinical interests include acquired language and speech disorders, swallowing disorders, and communication and swallowing challenges associated with aging and dementia. She has practiced in a variety of clinical settings including hospitals, free standing speech and hearing centers, skilled nursing facilities and private practice. She has held a variety of positions including staff speech language pathologist, program coordinator, program director, and Director of Rehabilitation Services.
These experiences have provided a unique perspective on the field of speech-language pathology which Ms. Nisenboum brings to the classroom. Ms. Nisenboum has conducted, presented and published clinical research throughout her career. Her research has focused primarily in the areas of aphasia and dysphagia. Current research is in the area of communication and aging. Ms. Nisenboum teaches clinical classes including: Case Management: from Diagnosis to Treatment Planning, Dysphagia, and Professional Practices. She also teaches Introduction to Communication Disorders and Communication and Aging. Ms. Nisenboum continues her clinical practice at Cedarwood Plaza a skilled nursing facility in Cleveland Heights.
