Congratulations to Silvia Hernandez, HaPI Measurement Scholarship Recipient!

Behavioral Measurement Database Services (BMDS) announced the two recipients of the 2020 HaPI Measurement Scholarship. Each scholarship provides a $500 award to a U.S.-based graduate student in the field of health or psychosocial science (e.g., psychology, counseling, sociology, social work, nursing, public health) who is in their 2nd year or beyond. The scholarship funds are intended to support the selected student’s master’s thesis, dissertation or other research project in the health or psychosocial sciences.

Silvia Hernandez is a graduate student in the Clinical Psychology Program in the Department of Psychology at Case Western Reserve University (Cleveland, Ohio). Ms. Hernandez plans to use the scholarship to fund her dissertation research on suicidal ideation across the adult lifespan. The goals of her proposed research include validating an instrument designed to assess suicidal ideation in older adults, and evaluating the psychometric properties of a new measure of adult stages of psychosocial development.
