My main research interests include the effects of traumatic brain injuries on school age children as they return to a scholastic environment. I am interested in their long- term transition into school and what deficits they may display in their language and communicative skills. To be able to define and understand the long term effects of a TBI could provide valuable insight into what early treatments and interventions are necessary.
The emphasis on the medical side of communication sciences is what drew me to the program but I have found many additional reasons to love this program. I enjoy the challenging atmosphere that surrounds the program and its members. It makes each of us work harder as we are held to higher expectations. The staff and students are all interested in helping each individual person succeed.
