Current Projects: Longitudinal study exploring how affective and cognitive processes in play, as assessed in elementary school-aged girls, predicted self-report measures of creativity, including creative thoughts and behaviors in a variety of domains, and divergent thinking 7 years later; pre-primary school study evaluating children’s attitudes toward school and nature, comparing the attitudes of children in a typical classroom with those of children in an outdoor classroom.
Research Interests: Pretend play and creative outcomes; play interventions to reduce anxiety in children; social-emotional adjustment and cooperative and adaptive behavior in preschoolers.
