Experimental Admissions Information & Program Data

The application procedure is a time-consuming process and should be initiated as early as possible. The School of Graduate Studies must receive all required materials before any formal action can be taken. It usually takes several weeks for all the application materials to be received and processed. Unofficial documents of GREs, transcripts, and unsealed letters of recommendation will not be considered. An application is only considered complete when the Psychology Department receives all official documents. Students are accepted for fall admission only. To receive full consideration for Fall admission, all application materials must be on file in the Department of Psychological Sciences by the application deadline. Applications completed after this date will not be given full consideration.

EXPERIMENTAL APPLICATIONS ARE DUE JANUARY 15

Contacting the Program Prior to Applying

An important consideration in selecting a graduate program is the fit between a student and the program philosophy, structure, and faculty interests. Potential applicants should contact the specific faculty member with whom they are interested in working prior to submission of the application. Visits prior to application are not necessary, but are strongly encouraged and may be required by some faculty members.

How to Apply

You are able to submit your Application, Application Fee, Personal Statement, and CV during the online application process. You are also prompted to submit the e-mail addresses of your 3 recommenders. Your recommenders will be e-mailed instructions about how to submit their recommendations online. Please contact ETS to submit your GRE scores to CWRU. As soon as your application is received, a confirmation e-mail is sent to the applicant. We will also notify applicants when their application is complete. If applicants would like to know the status of their application, they should contact the department secretary at 216-368-2686. For all other inquiries, first read our FAQ page. If you still have questions, please e-mail the department.
